The first list below gives the scores for all of the competitors in the
New Hampshire State High School Ski Jumping Championships.
The second list extracts the results of the female competitors.
At the bottom is the table containing the team standing.
Competitors were scored on the best two of their three jumps. An asterisk (*) below denotes a skimeister, that is, a skier who competes in all five high school championship events: Slalom, Giant slalom, Classic and Freestyle Cross-country, and Jumping. Here is a summary of the event from Scott Zipke, Hopkinton HS coach:
"The NH high school championships were held on Friday night 2/13/09 at
Blackwater Ski Area in Andover NH. It was a breezy and seasonably-cool
night - a perfect night for jumping. The hill was firm and fast. As
always, a large and boisterous crowd was on-hand for the event, as
Kennett continued their tradition of large ski jumping teams that always
seem to produce surprisingly skilled rookie jumpers (leading them to the
team title). The battle at the top of the overall between Jeff Colt and
Joe Merrow would be one of the highlights, as would the ability of
girls' winner Elise Ewing to 'hang with the boys', as she scored for her
team. Throw in the fact that the top four teams were separated by less
than 10 points, and it made for a thrilling night for all present.
