Results of Ski Jumping Competitions in the Eastern USA

Lake Placid New Years 90 Meter Ski Jump

Hosted and Organized by NYSEF Volunteers, with ORDA support

The NYSEF New Years Ski Jumping followed directly after the SuperTour jumping (postponed from Tuesday), so competitors took their three SuperTour jumps, then a half hour break and their last two rounds of NYSEF competition. The New Years Ski Festival finished in the afternoon with a Nordic Combined Cross Country race at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.
All of the competitions in the three-day series were qualifiers for the U.S. team to go to the World Junior Nordic Championships early in February in Strbske Pleso, Slovakia.

NYSEF New Year Nordic Combined Competition

The Nordic Combined competition consisted of one jump on the 90 meter hill (first round of the SuperTour jump), followed by a 10 km cross country race. (The two ladies skied 6 km.) Eighteen skiers showed up to race in the final qualifier for the team headed to the World Junior Championships. As it turned out, the top five finishers in the Open Class below were the five athletes named to the NC team.
