A Mystery Ski Jump
in West Quincy, Massachusetts

The photograph at the right was submitted via e-mail by an anonymous reader (browser), along with the following short note:

"The attached photo is of a small ski jump that was in use at the St. Moritz Winter Carnival at West Quincy Ma from 1929 to 1940 . The Ski Jump was 45 foot high and made of wood. This is the only photo that I have ever seen of this jump."

Needless to say, we are curious about this ancient jump. Is there anybody out there who skied on this jump? ...or watched the jumping? Do you even know exactly where it was located, or know anything else about it?

Please let us know and we'll post the information here. Thanks.

Notice that as you stand at the top of the tower, the knoll is hidden by the takeoff. This looks like a typical out-and-drop design from that period.
