USA Masters Ski Jumping National Championships

The 2002 Masters Championships were hosted Jan. 19-20 by the Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove, IL who did a great job on short notice. The snow gods provided fine weather and the hard working hosts provided five beautifully prepared hills. Five Norge Jumps

The competitions were folded in with Norge's annual junior and senior competitions, and it was exciting to see so many new kids trying out the sport that the Old Boys love. Masters turnout was small in spite of good representation from far corners of the U.S.

Competitors were invited to choose one or two from four competitions on hills of size 10, 22, 43, and 60 meters (K), but no masters chose to compete on the 10 meter hill and several jumped in only one competition. The three small hill meets were conducted on Saturday, January 19 while the big hill competition ran on Sunday, January 20. Saturday evening everybody gathered in the new Norge clubhouse for pizza (a kids banquet) and awards and fellowship. The results below are presented in the order in which the competitions were conducted.
