The 2006 Junior Olympics in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined
are scheduled from Feb. 28 to March 4 in The Upper Valley of New Hampshire, co-hosted by the Lebanon Outing Club, Lebanon NH and the Ford Sayre Memorial Ski Council, Hanover NH. Ski jumping events will be on LOC's 50 meter jump at Storrs Hill in Lebanon, while the cross country races will be at Ford Sayre's complex just north of Hanover.
This is the National Championship event for Junior-2 skiers, 15 years old or less. (Officially, the competitors must be born in 1990 or later.)
The field will contain the best young ski jumpers, in the U.S. and perhaps some from Canada, including some future Olympians. A separate girls class will accommodate the rapidly growing group of female ski jumpers.
On this page, we will try to post useful information for competitors, coaches and parents, as well as for spectators interested in viewing this exciting event close-up. |
